Multi-environmental field trials are an indispensable pre-requisite for the genetic analysis of quantitative traits like plant height and grain yield.

The RYE-SUS phenotyping network comprises a total number of 20 environments (site-year combinations) representing the main rye growing areas in Europe and Canada, that enable to evaluate the testcross performance of semi-dwarf hybrids with high precision.

At four locations in Austria, Estonia, and Germany all entries will be evaluated under the conditions of organic farming as well.
